Lower Sandy Bay TAS
Maximum level of RF EME from this base station
The maximum level of RF EME from this base station (full power) determined from measurements at locations around this site was 0.277% of the ARPANSA Standard limit for public exposure.
Highest level of RF EME actually measured
The highest level of RF EME from all nearby base stations actually measured at a location near this site was 0.029% of the ARPANSA Standard limit for public exposure.
The Environmental EME Report for this site (dated 14/08/2007) lists the maximum EME level as 0.24% of the ARPANSA Standard limit for public exposure.
Base station address: Sandown Park, Long Point Road, Lower Sandy Bay TAS
(See in Google maps). These measurements were taken on Wednesday 20 May 2009.

Detailed Results: RF EME from this base station
This table lists the range of RF EME values from the services present at this site measured at the location with the highest average value. An explanation of this table is here.
| Operator/Service | Location | Low Power [mW/m2] |
Full Power [mW/m2] |
Limit [mW/m2] |
Percentage of Limit[%] |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Telstra WCDMA | 3 | 0.493 - 1.073 | 5.403 - 11.761 | 4250 | 0.127 - 0.277 |
| Combined | 3 | 0.493 - 1.073 | 5.403 - 11.761 | 0.127 - 0.277 |
Note: The reported values for the WCDMA service in this table is an over-estimate due to the measurement techniques used at this site. See footnote for more information.

Footnote:
For this base station the measurement of demodulated pilot signals of the spread-spectrum technologies (CDMA, UMTS or WCDMA) was not performed. Extrapolation was done assuming that only the pilot signal was present when in fact a mixture of pilot and traffic signals contributed to the measured value. This assumption leads to over-estimates of the actual RF EME levels, typically by a factor of 2 to 5.
Further details may be obtained in the ARPANSA commentary on base station RF survey results.
