Uniformity in the Licensing of Radiation Sources and Nuclear Facilities
ARPANSA has also developed a National Directory for Radiation Protection through the Radiation Health Committee to provide an agreed framework for radiation safety.
The Radiation Protection Series publications are developed to be used by radiation users in industry, medicine and research. The publications are also used by Commonwealth, States and Territories and adopted into radiation protection regulatory systems within each jurisdiction. Some publications in the Series are advisory in nature (Recommendations and Safety Guides) and are also designed to be used by regulators to give common guidance throughout Australia.
ARPANSA has also developed a National Directory for Radiation Protection through the Radiation Health Committee to provide an agreed framework for radiation safety. The Directory contains clear regulatory statements to be adopted by the Commonwealth, States and Territories through each jurisdiction’s legislation. The Radiation Protection Series are also adopted, with the agreement of the Radiation Health Committee, and the endorsement of the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council (AHMAC) and the Australian Health Ministers’ Conference (AHMC) into the National Directory.
