Increased Permit Fees
Increase in Import Permit fees effective 1 February 2007
As of 1 February 2007, ARPANSA will be increasing the fees for processing Custom Prohibited Import Permits issued under Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956, for the importation of medical and non-medical radioisotopes by an average of 20%.
ARPANSA has recently undertaken a review of all its fees and charges in particular those associated with the processing of import permits, which has shown that this service has been provided well below cost.
This fee increase is the first since the last pricing adjustment in October 2002 and reflects operation cost increase over that time. The following table shows the new fees.
| Cost prior to 1 February 2007 | Revised cost effective 1 February 2007 | |
|---|---|---|
| Single shipment permit – standard | $110 | $130 |
| Single shipment permit – urgent | $180 | $215 |
| Annual permit | $1250 | $1500 |
The Payment of Invoices web page has information about how to pay fees.
If you have any enquiries regarding this increase, please contact the ARPANSA Finance Manager on (03) 9433 2384.
