Discussion of 'first round' submissions

Matters raised in 'first round' submissions were discussed and explored, with the invited special interest groups able to present their arguments. The CEO of ARPANSA, Dr John Loy, took the outputs of the forum into account in deciding to grant the construction licence.

Robert Budnitz is an U.S. physicist prominent in the field of nuclear regulatory assessment, including probabilistic risk assessment. Gary Schwarz is Director of the Personnel Qualification Assessment Division of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, and is also experienced in the safety review, licensing and inspection of power reactors.
