Survey Of Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Fields In Victorian Households

Following a pilot study in 2004, ARPANSA commenced a full survey of extremely low frequency (50 Hz) magnetic field levels in more than 300 Melbourne homes in September 2005. The required number of homes have been visited and magnetic field data collected. The measurements include spot-measurements in different rooms and 24-hour logging of levels in the first child’s bedroom and in the main family living space. The analysis and publication of the results is expected to be completed late in 2007.
