Notes For UPF Trade Mark Licensees

Ultra violet protection factor logo

Licensees may wish to make use of the free retests ARPANSA offers with licence agreements. To qualify as a retest, a sample must be of similar specification and colour to the original sample tested. Indicate if a sample is a retest by entering the ARPANSA job code for the original sample into the "Retest" column of the testing request form to ensure that no invoice is raised.

Fabrics tested at ARPANSA will be automatically added to your licence agreement unless you indicate otherwise by ticking "Don't add to Licence" on the request form.

UPF test reports performed on samples that are less than 200mm x 300mm in size may not be accepted for use in the UPF Certification Scheme.

Some notes about samples submitted to ARPANSA for UPF testing:

  • Samples to be tested should be approximately one metre by half a metre in size.
  • Express testing (faster results) attracts an additional charge of 50% of the standard testing charge.
  • Payment in advance is required on the first occasion a company or person uses the ARPANSA UPF testing service. Payment may be made by cheque or money order drawable on any Australian bank and made out to ARPANSA. Electronic payment is also available.

Use the fabric testing request form (PDF 128kb) to request the fabric testing service.

For more information about UPF testing email the UPF testing service.
