Purchasing UPF Swing Tags
The Australian Standard Sun protective clothing - Evaluation and classification, AS/NZS4399: 1996 specifies appropriate wording to be placed on labels of clothing claiming to offer sun protection. Companies can use this standard as a guide for developing their own UPF rating labels. ARPANSA can provide ready-made UPF rating labels for companies wishing to label their products with a UPF rating. Tags are packaged in lots of 500 tags and are available with UPF ratings of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 50+.
The UPF swing tags feature one of ARPANSA's licensed trade marks - the UPF Certification Trade Mark. Companies wishing to use the ARPANSA UPF tags must first licence use of this trademark from ARPANSA - refer to the UPF Certification Trade Mark page. ARPANSA must be satisfied that products labelled with the tags will provide at least the amount of sun protection stated on the UPF rating label.
