The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is looking for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community representatives who are interested in joining its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group.
ARPANSA aims to establish long lasting connections and relationships with First Nations communities on the lands in which we work. ARPANSA is developing its first RAP to reflect on our story and relationship with First Nations communities historically, and look to contributing to a future where we celebrate Aboriginal history and culture, and create opportunities for self-determination, equal opportunity and reconciliation.
Your role in the Working Group would be to provide guidance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and perspectives in the development of ARPANSA’s Reflect RAP, and work with us to create a RAP that helps ARPANSA to take meaningful and lasting steps towards reconciliation, and maintain relationships that lead to positive outcomes for the First Nations communities we are connected with.
There is flexibility in how you can work with us, including how we connect and time commitments. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit to 5-10 hours per month to this project, in person or remotely, commencing in December 2023 until mid-2024.
This is a paid consulting position and is not an employment arrangement with ARPANSA. If you are interested in this position on the working group or if you have any questions about this position, please contact Lauren.duckworth@arpansa.gov.au or call Lauren on 03 9433 2432.
Expressions of interest are requested by COB Monday 4 December 2023.
