ARPANSA requests comments on drafts in relation to:

  • Relevance and usefulness. Are the stated objectives appropriate, and are they met by the document?
  • Scope and completeness. Is the stated scope appropriate and adequate to cover the document?
  • Quality and clarity. Do the requirements/guidance represent the current consensus among specialists in the field? Are they expressed in a clear and coherent way?

The objective of this draft text is to provide practical guidance for design and delivery of exercises for nuclear security systems and measures for the detection of and response to acts involving nuclear and other radioactive material out of regulatory control. This publication is intended for competent authorities involved in the preparation, conduct and evaluation of nuclear security exercises, including law enforcement agencies, customs, border security forces, regulatory bodies and technical and scientific support organizations.
