Nuclear Safety Committee call for nominations
Do you have experience with human and organisational factors in the nuclear sector, high hazard industry or in safety related regulation? We’re looking for a suitable person to join the Nuclear Safety Committee, ending in December 2020.
The Nuclear Safety Committee is an advisory body established under the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Act 1998. The committee provides advice to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA), at the CEO’s request, on a range of radiation protection or nuclear safety matters.
Members of the Nuclear Safety Committee are part-time and appointed for a period of up to three years. The CEO of ARPANSA appoints members in consultation with the Radiation Health and Safety Advisory Council.
A vacancy is now open for a person to join the current term of the Nuclear Safety Committee that ends in December 2020. ARPANSA is seeking a suitably qualified person with experience in human and organisation factors in the nuclear sector or other major hazard facilities or industries. Experience with systems safety and accident/incident investigation is highly desirable.
