ARPANSA Strategic Management Committee and Chief Executive

As CEO of ARPANSA,  Dr Carl-Magnus Larsson is responsible for the Agency's activities, policy directions and efficient performance. The ARPANSA Strategic Management Committee supports the CEO and is the major vehicle for collegiate decision making in the Agency.

Offices and Branches within ARPANSA

ARPANSA comprises a General Counsel, two offices and three service branches located in Sydney and Melbourne:

  • General Counsel - Mr Martin Reynolds
  • Corporate Office - Mr George Savvides, Head of Corporate and Chief Financial Officer
    Sections include: People & Culture; Finance; Information Management; and Performance & Governance
    (Sydney and Melbourne)
  • Office of the CEO - Ms Tone Doyle, Chief of Staff
    Sections include: Government & Parliamentary Relations; International Relations; and Communications
  • Medical Radiation Services Branch - Dr Ivan Williams, Chief Medical Radiation Scientist
    Sections include: Medical Imaging; Radiotherapy; and the Australian Clinical Dosimetry Service
  • Radiation Health Services Branch - Dr Gillian Hirth, Chief Radiation Health Scientist
    Sections include: Assessment & Advice; Monitoring & Emergency Response; and Radiation Protection Services
  • Regulatory Services Branch - Mr Jack Dillich, Chief Inspector
    Sections include: Regulatory Assurance; Facility Licensing; Source Control and Continuous Improvement

Advisory Bodies

The ARPANS Act establishes several bodies that advise the CEO of ARPANSA. These bodies include the Radiation Health and Safety Advisory Council, the Radiation Health Committee and the Nuclear Safety Committee. The ARPANS Act also specifies the categories of membership for the Council and Committees.
