ARPANSA conducts a commercial personal radiation monitoring service. Our monitors are used by workers in the medical, dentistry, chiropractic, industrial and mining fields to track exposure to ionising radiation. 
ARPANSA calibrates instruments used to measure ionising and non-ionising radiation. Calibrations are traceable to appropriate Australian and international standards.
ARPANSA's radioanalytical laboratory provides radioactivity testing of water, wastewater soil, sediment, food and wipe test samples and can test other types of samples by arrangement.
ARPANSA tests radiopharmaceuticals used in nuclear medicine in Australia for compliance with stated specifications. We do this under an arrangement with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). And each year ARPANSA publishes it's findings in a technical report.
The ARPANSA UV laboratory performs Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) testing on fabrics and other materials. 
Data from an Australia wide network of data loggers is available as UV-Index values and graphs for major Australian cities for the current day.

ARPANSA maintains Australian standards of radiation exposure and absorbed dose. These standards are passed on to Australian radiotherapy centres by the calibration of reference dosemeters.
ARPANSA has a refurbished Vickers (Radiation Dynamics) electron linear accelerator similar to those in use at the NPL in the UK and the National Research Council of Canada (NRCC). It is operated for the maintenance of national dosimetry standards and as an irradiation resource for approved users.

The magnetic field meter is a hand held device with a digital display that reads in units of milligauss (mG). The meter is used for measuring magnetic fields generated by the passage of mains electricity.
