Personal Radiation Monitoring Service
The Personal Radiation Monitoring Service (PRMS) monitors the exposure of workers to ionising radiation.
Dose information is provided to the worker to ensure that the recommended dose limit is not exceeded.
PRMS is currently transitioning from the well-established thermoluminescent dosimetry (TLD) technology to the state of the art technology Beryllium Oxide (BeO) OSL (Optically Stimulated Luminescence).
With more than 80 years' of dosimetry experience working with a range of industries both nationally and internationally, we are well established to monitor and protect your employees from the harmful effects of radiation.
The ARPANSA Personal Radiation Monitoring Service is an Australian based government service which complies with the requirements of all Commonwealth, state and territory regulations.
The service operates an AS17025 quality system and is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).
The team assessing the monitors are in Australia and are contactable on FREECALL number 1800 678 112. They will answer your queries.
As the service is based in Australia, the turnaround times for assessment and reporting of dose in usually within 10 business days. In the event of an emergency, we would be able to report results within hours of receipt of the monitors.
Our PRMS maintains lifetime radiation dose histories for all our clients and our records are kept permanently in a National Archives Office recommended facility.
