Regulation and licensing

Regulation and licensing of the Commonwealth's radiation and nuclear activities which reflects international best practice in radiation and nuclear regulation.

The Regulatory Services Branch has developed a framework for regulation of the Commonwealth's radiation and nuclear activities which reflects international best practice in radiation and nuclear regulation, and is consistent with the requirements for radiation protection and nuclear safety of the Australian State and Territory regulatory authorities.

We administer licences for radiation sources and facilities used and operated by Commonwealth entities.
