The Code establishes the responsibilities of those involved in dental radiology, and lays down requirements for equipment and siting, image receptors and film processing, and procedures to minimise exposure to ionizing radiation.
Radiation Protection Series No. 8
This Code of Practice is designed to ensure that researchers proposing to expose research participants to ionizing radiation provide the participants and the Human Research Ethics Committees with information that allows consent to be properly considered by the research participants and approval considered by the Human Research Ethics Committee.
Radiation Protection Series No. 5
The Code of Practice establishes requirements for adoption by Commonwealth, State and Territory jurisdictions that will provide a system for the safe use of portable density/moisture gauges containing radioactive sources.
Radiation Protection Series No. 11
The purpose of this Code of Practice is to set out the security requirements to be implemented by persons dealing with sealed radioactive sources.

The RPF requires regulators to look at how they operate and the regulatory impact they create when administering regulation.

Guides and recommendations
Guides are documents that provide recommendations and guidance on how to comply with the Codes or apply the principles of the Fundamentals. They are written in an explanatory and non-regulatory style and indicate the measures recommended for good practice. They are generally expressed as 'should' statements.
